We are inviting dance artists to submit notes of interest for DanceLive 2021.

This year's DanceLive 2021 will take place on the 14th - 17th October in Aberdeen and online.

Citymoves are hoping to deliver a hybrid live and digital festival that will adhere to government guidelines. This will likely involve small, socially distanced performances and outdoor work, accompanied by a digital component following Citymoves’ first successful fully digital festival in 2020.

Dance artists working across any styles are invited to submit notes of interest for the festival. This can either be through a short description of the idea (up to 300 words) sent to roisin.obrien@citymoves.org.uk or by arranging a short one-to-one call with Róisín or a member of the Citymoves team.

Proposed ideas can include full-length physical performances or shorter extracts, as well as site-specific work.

Artists are encouraged to think about how the work could adapt to social distancing rules and work in both live and digital spaces. This does not have to be extensive as the Citymoves team will provide guidance. If possible, artists are invited to propose a rough budget estimate but this is not a necessity.

Interested artists are encouraged to attend a free online budgeting session by Citymoves CEO Carol Benzie on Thursday 3rd June at 12-1pm. Artists who are unable to attend this date can request a recording of the event.

To book onto this session, please email citymoves@citymoves.org.uk. The session will be auto transcribed live. Please let us know if you have any access requirements to enable you to participate in the session.

Location: Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire

For further information, please contact roisin.obrien@citymoves.org.uk or visit citymoves.org.uk

Deadline is Monday 07 June 2021 at 17:00.
