About the Commission:

Citymoves Dance Agency is pleased to commission a Local Dance Artist for a new work for Aberdeen’s Festival of the Sea 2024. The Commissioned Artist will lead the development of an intergenerational dance piece created with a local community cast, ages 10+, and a support artist.

About Festival of The Sea:

The ‘Festival of the Sea’ is a two-week celebration of the history, traditions, and relationship between the city and the sea.

From 15-28 July 2024, the festival will deliver a wide selection of events across the city.

Aberdeen is known as a city of the sea with deep-rooted connections to its maritime and marine past.

By embracing the city’s rich maritime history, as well as highlighting further points of interest across the city, this will demonstrate the pride that the city has in its heritage, values and community.

The Commissioned Artist must be available to commit to all the rehearsal dates, times, and locations.

Those interested in applying should send a letter of interest detailing why they believe they would be the best candidate to lead this project to citymoves@citymoves.org.uk. Applications are also accepted as video files and audio recordings. [MS1]

Please direct enquiries and applications to citymoves@citymoves.org.uk

The closing date for applications will be 17:00  on Monday, 10th June 2024.
