We are delighted to announce the addition of Iain Mearns to our Board of Trustees.

Iain found Citymoves through his daughter's participation in our Horizons Inclusive Youth Performance Group, and is a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner with SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health) at the Nook in Aberdeen, offering free support to young people (10 years old+), adults and families affected by mental health challenges.

Originally trained as a geologist with an MSc from the University of London, Iain has worked at several international energy companies across multiple countries and cultures as a Geologist, and later in various Senior Leadership roles over a 28-year period, driving technical excellence, positive cultural change, and workforce inclusion.

After being introduced to Citymoves through his youngest daughter and her 5-year involvement in the fully inclusive Horizons Performance Group, Iain has become a stronger supporter of diversity, equity, and inclusion for vulnerable groups, raising critical funds and increasing awareness of local and international charities.

Jacky Hardacre, Chair of the board, said this to welcome Iain to the team, 'We are delighted to welcome Iain as a Trustee; he is a passionate advocate for Citymoves, knowing the transformative power of our work from a personal perspective. The breadth of Iain's experience and interests will be an invaluable addition to the board as the company continues to deliver positive impacts through dance in the North East of Scotland.'

Welcome to the team, Iain. We are so glad to have you on board. 💃
