Citymoves Dance Agency and Aberdeen College of Performing Arts are delighted to announce a new Higher National Diploma in Professional Dance Performance beginning in 2026/27.

This partnership comes at a critical time, ensuring continued opportunities for formal education and training in Dance are available to people looking to begin careers in the industry following the recent closure of The Scottish Institute of Theatre, Dance, Film & Television last year, and recent funding cuts that threaten Further Education opportunities in Dance at colleges like, the pending cuts to the Dance Provision at Dundee and Angus College. This new HND from ACPA and Citymoves will strengthen the professional pipeline for creatives looking to start their careers in the Arts and Culture Sector, while also ensuring that Scotland does not lose the next generation of artists to colleges farther afield.

‘Dance is a vital part of the creative ecosystem in Scotland, and we are proud to support this pathway to creative, professional, and personal success for young people looking to start a career in Dance and the Performing Arts.’ - Hayley Durward, CEO of Citymoves Dance Agency.
The HND in Professional Dance Performance will provide students with intensive practical training, performance experience, and industry insight, equipping them with the technical, creative, and professional skills required to progress into employment or further study within the performing arts sector.

This partnership was formed to ensure that pupils looking to earn their HND qualifications receive diverse opportunities and the very best education from professional dance artists, tutors, and faculty at Citymoves and Aberdeen College of Performing Arts.

'We believe young people should have the opportunity to begin and continue their performance journey in the North East of Scotland, supported by outstanding training and industry-led guidance.' - Jennifer McKinnon Magee, Head Teacher at ACPA
